Principal: Victorian State Government Builder: John Holland Construction Contract Value: $2.6 Million
Description: Detail, supply, fabricate, surface coat and Install a new pedestrian bridge linking the Melbourne Convention centre to the Melbourne Exhibition Building. The bridge consisted of a skeletal three dimensional pipe truss substructure curving in three directions and a superstructure which consisted of a fabricated box beam and columns supporting tapering steel fins which in turn support the main roof. Due to extreme three dimensional form of the Bridge together with the required camber, posed a very unique challenge In fabricating such a complex structure. Hundreds of pipe wrap around Templates were produced and very few individual pipe elements were the same. All the stainless steel elements were also fabricated in our workshop.
